When Iku was diagnosed with cancer in December 2024, we hit our out-of-pocket max ($9600) for 2024 and 2025 within a matter of three months. We've also found out that with many kinds of cancers the maintenance medications and follow-up scans mean that cancer patients will hit their out-of-pocket max's for many years to come.
We know personally how hard physically and mentally fighting cancer can be. When you add on the financial burden it can often be too much. This is why we started The Believe Fund.

How do we choose recipients?
We work directly with hostpital networks to pay for medical bills directly. Currently we are working with Kaiser Permanente as that is who is treating Iku. But we are working with Providence, Blue Cross and Sage Cancer Care.
